Sunshine, sand and picnics

Great day in the glorious sunshine - watering plants, playing with water and muddy puddle, first sand castles, and cut back that ivy.

Garden day in Easter hols

We're inviting everyone into our garden to have some fun and some find out your ideas for how you want our garden to look.  There'll be a few family activities and an opportunity for some gardening.  Tea, coffee, biscuits provided.

KHCC Stay & Play will also be open as usual during the school holidays, Thursdays 10 to 12.

Mapping the garden

Our first attempt to map what's happened in the garden.  Please visit and update/edit any plans you have:

Three Bears fun in garden

Ran the theme of 3 bears and Goldilocks, cooking up porridge specially for the occasion.  Great to be out in the garden, and got ivy cut down with help from all - didn't get round to doing the raised beds, but no hurry - garden tots to resume weekly garden fun next week!

Wishing you Wassail!

A beautiful day, and thanks to all who came to our garden to wish Wassail to the New year!  Much thanks to Brethren Border Morris, Catriona and Sharon, Pam and Alys for dancing, singing, storytelling, and expertly pruning our fruit to wish in a fruitful new year.

Lacewing Hotels

The last garden club this season.  Thanks to all those who have come along and supported our free fun-in-the-garden experiment.  We are making an application to buy some kit and make things better and more long term for a garden club at KHCC.  I will post when ready to start again in the new year.

Photos below are of lacewing hotel making - I did something similar at Evergreen.  I will post to Bugmen Ad Bates and Nick Williams (OPALWM and Butterfly conservation who both visited earlier this year) to check they will work, but they look pretty in our trees anyway.

We finished off with a Mole story, the Giving Tree and Not a stick.
